Victrix Pro FS Arcade Fight Stick Review

The Fight Stick is a niche peripheral. However, when it comes to your particular application, you can’t do anything else. Whether you’re going head-to-head in major fighting game tournaments or playing classic games at MAME, you need a quality arcade controller, but it’s hard to find a better one than a new one. Winner Pro FS arcade fight stick.

For the most part, the Victrix Pro FS is everything you could ask for in an arcade stick. It’s lightweight, has quality buttons and a great joystick, and looks sleek and sophisticated. However, it lacks one major feature that could be a huge turn-off for potential buyers.

sophisticated design

Many arcade sticks (even at this price point) are huge chunks of plastic and lack portability, but this one is not. The Pro FS is constructed from a single piece of aircraft-grade aluminum for durability and a sleek look not found in many other offerings.

This stick is made with portability in mind, with carry handles on each side that make it easy to slip in and out of your bag. The joystick is also removable to prevent snagging and worst-case damage.

Ideally, you’ll play Pro FS on your desk or table, but Victrix recognizes that’s not always possible. The bottom panel has thin foam padding to support the stick when used on your lap. The chassis also slopes forward to form a wrist rest.

layout and connection

The Pro FS comes with an all Sanwa Denshi joystick and 8 primary buttons. It also has a trackpad and extra controls on top to control the PS4 or PS5 menus without the need for an extra controller. The only control on the DualShock 4 or DualSense that isn’t mapped to the Pro FS by default is the D-Pad. Luckily, there is an easy shortcut to toggle joystick mapping between analog stick mode and D-Pad mode.

The only place you need to dock Pro FS points is at the connection. It can connect to PS4, PS5 or PC via USB-C (USB-C to USB-A or PS4 requires an adapter) and is wired only. I know most people want minimal latency with their Fight Stick, but for casual play I would have liked a wireless mode. You don’t necessarily need minimal latency if you’re just using MAME or fighting the CPU. We will gladly trade it for your convenience.

customization

Victrix Pro FS Arcade Fight Stick Review Customization

Most pre-built arcade sticks don’t leave much room for customization. However, the Pro FS gives you full access to the controller’s internals through the bottom panel. So if you want to replace your joystick or buttons, you have easy access.

price

The Victrix Pro FS Arcade Fight Stick is great, but it all comes with a price tag. Both the white and purple variants are $399.99. Most people can’t justify paying the same amount for a controller as they would for a discless PS5. Given the lack of wireless connectivity, it’s a tough sell for the average gamer.

However, if you want the highest quality fight stick, you’ll pay as much or more to make it or source it from another company.

Victrix Pro FS Arcade Fight Stick Review: Final Verdict

The Pro FS has a premium feel at a premium price. This is a great product and one of the best arcade sticks out there. Unfortunately, the lack of wireless connectivity diminishes its usefulness, making it less appealing for casual gaming.
