The OnePlus 7 and 7T family of phones has enjoyed four years of success despite some setbacks. OnePlus has released a new Android 12 update for its devices, but has quietly revealed that it will be the last.

The OxygenOS 12 MP3 update introduces December 2022 security patches to improve system stability and performance. It also aims to enhance mobile network connectivity.
Conversely, this marked the end of the line for the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, and OnePlus 7T Pro, all of which dominated our list of the best Android phones. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, but some users were disappointed that OnePlus announced it in a single paragraph rather than in a separate dedicated post.
Four phones debuted four years ago, and OnePlus announced a commitment late last year to release four generations of OxygenOS updates and five years of security updates for select devices, but the OnePlus 7 and The 7T lineup was clearly left out.
These devices were only supposed to update to Android 12 in line with OnePlus’ maintenance schedule, but they received an update late last year. However, due to network issues, the rollout was delayed so much that it never caused any problems.
Nonetheless, the Chinese phone maker has recovered and resumed rolling out the stable OxygenOS 12 (Android 12) for the OnePlus 7 and 7T families in October. We are on our way to major markets including India.
