What you need to know
- Official renders of the alleged Galaxy S23 have leaked.
- The rendering shows that the shimmering camera island has been removed, leaving only the lens to protrude slightly from the back of the device.
- With a 6.1-inch display, the Galaxy S23 gives the metal frame a slight curvature that appears to improve hand comfort.
With the Galaxy S23 coming out a little sooner, there’s no way to contain this excitement.
German website WinFuture posted what it claims to be an official render, along with the colors consumers might see as the launch date looms. Since the dummy unit was leaked, the Galaxy S23, and even the S23 Plus, have had some very subtle changes. And it’s clear that the S23 could land with a 6.1-inch display.
The Galaxy S23’s back is smooth and flat, with a slightly less raised camera island for the shooter, and a recently leaked render doubles this. It brings a sleeker, sharper design that users should continue to expect.
You can view some of the renderings below, but the rest can be found on WinFuture.
It was previously leaked that the Galaxy S23 series will come in four colors: Cotton Flower (white), Misty Lilac (purple-tinged pink), Botanic Green (green), and Phantom Black (black).
A rendering of the Galaxy S23 shows that color wraps around the phone’s back and sides, matching its design language with the Galaxy S22. WinFuture also speculates that the back material of the device is likely some kind of aluminum, though its frame could be metal covered in glass.
The front of the render shows a punch-hole selfie camera in the center, and the device also appears to have a slight curve to the frame to fit comfortably in your hand.
Getting inside the device, the Galaxy S23 series will be equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. However, there has been speculation that the series will use a high-frequency variant of this new chip exclusively for the European region. This variant is said to reach speeds of his 3.36GHz, slightly above his 3.2GHz of the regular version. The chip offers support for Wi-Fi 7 (twice as fast as Wi-Fi 6) and 200MP photos. This should be put to good use by his S23 Ultra.
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S23 series has been confirmed to launch on February 1st in San Francisco, California. Pre-orders for the three new phones are also open, with Samsung offering a $50 credit for pre-ordering one device and double that amount for pre-ordering two.
