If you have had surgery, you may have experienced the unpleasant aspects of surgery even before you were driven to the operating room. I am told not to drink. However, because surgeries are often delayed, the two-hour water fast tends to be long, and he can spend several hours, sometimes almost most of the day, without drinking anything.

The good news is that things are changing. A new approach being practiced in several hospitals around the world allows people to continue drinking in moderation…
