Getting your Apple TV 4K up and running is super easy. Especially if you are an iPhone user (surprise, surprise). With iCloud Keychain enabled in your iPhone’s iCloud settings, simply hold the keychain next to your Apple TV 4K to transfer your Apple and Wi-Fi login information. It also transfers app selection and login (at least most apps) when upgrading from previous versions.
HDMI-CEC is also enabled when you connect Apple TV 4K to your TV. This allows you to conveniently adjust the volume level of your TV or a soundbar connected to your TV using your Apple TV 4K remote control. If you want or need to set it manually, the menu settings are clearly laid out such as entering his home Wi-Fi login, configuring video and audio output, etc.
The new Apple TV 4K uses the company’s A15 Bionic chip and is claimed to deliver up to 50% more CPU performance and up to 30% more GPU performance than its predecessor. Two other features added to the new Apple TV 4K are when used as a HomeKit camera feed. HomeKit Hub Support for streaming to dual AirPods sets. I haven’t been able to try his HomeKit features. With this feature, you can watch a video feed from a compatible camera (such as the Logitech doorbell camera) in an on-screen window. We’ve linked AirPods Pro 2, but you can easily do that by selecting your AirPods as the audio output in the on-screen control center. If you choose the headphone output for AirPlay streaming to AirPods, you can also use the headphone’s built-in microphone for voice commands and searches. The search feature pops up a floating vertical list of choices on the right side of the screen so you can choose between options without obscuring what you’re currently looking at.
Siri’s “what to watch” command is based on your previous movie and TV viewing history to give you surprisingly accurate results. At least in my case it is. Another feature Apple plans to add is to make this feature available to multiple viewers. Siri recognizes different voices and responds with individual profiles.
