An Irish social enterprise that provides free hot water to fuel-starved households thanks to surplus electricity from wind power is poised for major expansion across the Republic of Ireland and the UK this year.

EnergyCloud uses surplus wind power to heat hot water tanks at night for residents of public housing.

After a successful 10-month pilot with 40 households in 2022, the scheme will be rolled out to 10,000 households in the Republic of Ireland this year…
