Roborock Dyad Pro Review: Powerful automated cleaning

Taking everything that made Robrorock Dyads great and making them better, the Robrorock Dyad Pro is a great hard floor cleaner. A separate detergent tank ensures that the detergent is perfectly mixed according to the level of soiling, and automatic power adjustment ensures excellent cleaning performance on any soiling. Great edge performance and great battery life make this a great hard floor cleaner and wet vacuum.

Roborock’s foray into traditional appliances with the Dyad has proven that they are not only a great robot vacuum maker, they can make a great hard floor cleaner. Now, with the Roborock Dyad Pro, the company has a refined and improved version of the original.

Great cleaning power, a separate detergent tank and great battery life make this the best hard floor cleaner.

The Robrorock Dyad Pro is not only a hard floor cleaner, but also a wet and dry vacuum cleaner that can suck up dirt while you clean, making cleaning faster because you only have to tackle the floor once.

This model looks a lot like its predecessor, the Roborock Dyad, but has a slightly larger floor head, is slightly larger overall (1110 x 270 x 310mm) and weighs about the same (4.8kg). It’s very light by hard floor cleaner standards, and considering the unit stays on the floor, all you need to lift is carry it to the area you want to clean.

The bigger the head, the better. First, the Robrorock Dyad Pro is more balanced, so it stands on its own. This makes cleaning pauses easier than using the flip-out stand of its predecessor.

Secondly, cleaning the sides of the room is improved as the rollers now extend a bit towards the edges.

Roborock has also tweaked how the tank and detergent work. In previous models, most hard floor cleaners I reviewed, such as the EZViz RH1, had a single clean tank built to take a combination of water and detergent.

This model has a 900ml clean water tank as before, but this time there is no need to mix detergent.

Instead, there is a separate detergent tank on top of the floor head. When cleaning, the Robrorock Dyad Pro mixes detergent with water on the go to get the right mix for the level of dirt detected.

I like the separate detergent tank. This means less waste. No need to empty unused solution at the end of the wash. This system works well with the Vax Platinum SmartWash Carpet Cleaner and works just as well here. A full detergent tank can be used for about 20 tanks of clean water.

Dirty water is sucked into a 770ml tank. It has a washable filter (there’s a spare in the box so you can keep cleaning while one filter dries out) and an internal filter that pulls out large clumps of debris. The original Dyad had a separate basket for collecting larger trash, which was very difficult to empty.

Using the Robrorock Dyad Pro is easy. There is a power button on the handle that turns the hard floor cleaner on in automatic mode. The location and handle design of this button have been improved. In the original Dyad, it was easy to accidentally knock the power button to turn off the cleaner.

In automatic mode, Dyad uses the Dirtect sensor to detect how dirty your floor is. The more red in the light ring, the dirtier the floor. This sensor is used to control both the suction power and the amount of detergent dispensed.

For stubborn dirt there is a maximum power mode. Eco mode saves battery life, but for practical purposes I’ve found it easier to avoid this and use mostly auto mode and max mode for difficult dirt It also has a dry-only mode that’s handy for soaking up wet spills.

The Robrorock Dyad Pro has rollers that move in different directions and can easily be pushed back and forth with little effort. This hard floor cleaner was easy to move around, but it can only be tilted up to a 60° angle, so you’ll have to move some furniture around.

New to this model is the adjustable splash guard. When opened, larger debris can be picked up. Close to prevent objects from being sucked in and clogging the rollers. Usually, if there is a lot of dry dust on the floor, I think it’s best to vacuum it with a regular vacuum cleaner and then clean it up with the Dyad Pro.

This is mainly due to the fact that blotting with the Dyad Pro wets the dirt. So I find it easier and cleaner to avoid picking up too much trash with a hard floor cleaner. A regular vacuum cleaner is easy to empty.

Once complete, the Robrorock Dyad Pro will drop into the floor dock, begin charging, and activate self-clean mode. Technically, there are two self-cleaning modes to choose from: Standard and Deep Clean. Both automatically clean the rollers with water from the clean tank.

There is a dry mode here, and at the end it uses gentle hot air to dry the rollers and help stop odors.

Dirt may still be wrapped around the rollers. I have her 4 cats and sometimes cat hair gets caught on them, for example. The rollers are easy to remove and have a handy cleaning brush to remove jams.

New to this model is the app, which connects the Robrorock Dyad Pro to Wi-Fi. From the app, I was able to adjust the power mode and water flow just like with the Roborock S7 MaxV. However, it’s much easier to navigate between power modes using your device’s controls.

That said, the app can help with firmware updates and turn on an automatic self-cleaning mode when the mop is dropped on the dock.

I used it on my kitchen floor to test the Robrorock Dyad Pro. Cats walk in mud, dry off in cat food, and the combination of normal wear and tear makes putting this through cleaners a tough test.

First, I started with normal dirt, surface level dirt. Here, we found the Robrorock Dyad Pro to gently run over them, removing dirt and leaving floors sparkling.

Next, I tackled the dried dirt from where my cats eat. Removing these takes a little more work, but placing a roller over the stain and gently shaking the Robrorock Dyad Pro to loosen and remove the dirt is a good idea. I found this cleaner to be the best I have used to remove stains like this.

Larger clumps of dirt, such as pet hair, were also easy for the Dyad Pro to soak up and remove.

We then approached the kitchen pedestal to test the Edge’s performance. With other hard floor cleaners, there’s always a noticeable swath of dirt that you have to tackle with a rag every few weeks.With the Robrorock Dyad Pro, the vacuum was able to get very close to the edge of the room.

Only the Shark Klik n’ Flip Automatic Steam Mop S6003UK can clean deep corners, but this steam cleaner uses a microfiber cloth to remove dirt, so it can’t pick up dirt and debris.

The floor was a little shiny when it finished cleaning, but it dried quickly. In fact, I could walk on the floor without worrying about dirty footprints.

I measured the Robrorock Dyad Pro and it was just 73.5 dB. It has a gentle, non-irritating hum and is very quiet. Self-cleaning is a little louder, but it only runs for a few minutes and you only hear a gentle fan noise as the rollers dry.

Battery life is excellent, and we found one charge to be enough to thoroughly clean an entire downstairs in one go. A second charge was enough to finish cleaning the other two floors of the house.
