Which Chromebooks and Chrome OS devices support Steam games?

Best Answer: Steam Beta is currently supported on 7+ Chromebooks. According to Google, you’ll need a Chromebook with at least an 11th Gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, AMD Ryzen 3 or better, and 8 GB or more of RAM.

Chrome OS Steam has been rumored and teased for much of the past two years. Since then, very little information has been shared about Google and Valve’s plans to bring “true” gaming to Chromebooks and other Chrome OS computers.

Following a somewhat bleak announcement during one of the Google for Games Developer Summit talks in 2022, many wondered what the requirements would be. A few days after the announcement, Google provided a little more detail about the hardware you’ll need if you want to play your favorite Steam games on your Chromebook.

On the Steam on ChromeOS Beta landing page, Google provides a list of Chromebooks currently compatible with the program. These include some of the best Chromebooks released in recent months and some that are not commercially available.
