Having practiced Vedic meditation consistently twice a day for the past 12 years, friends often ask me how to start meditating regularly. I didn’t know what to say until you offered what I did (which was diving with both feet for an extensive three-day meditation training). Excited to explore less extreme recommendations for people.
The visuals of this app are beautiful. I found it sleek in appearance and instantly attractive. However, what initially got me hooked was the background his noise when I opened an app or his website, even if I had another browser his window open.
I didn’t know how to turn them off. It also took me quite a while to find the “Scenes” icon (which I eventually stumbled across, it looks like a little mountain painted on the home screen). You can change scenes and sounds (or fortunately mute them).
Calm doesn’t really give you much direction on where to start, but it seems the key is simply to explore the app on your own.Can be used when you need to search for something specific (such as an instructor or topic) that you want to explore further[発見]I have a button.
For those wishing to “learn to meditate”, it would be helpful if the app immediately suggested some of the 7-day or 21-day study programs (I found these when I was looking through the Help Center). just found it). But at least 10 minutes of listening to “The Daily Calm” every day is enough for anyone trying to meditate. This is the perfect starting point for making meditation a regular practice with minimal time investment.
Most of the meditations in this app are guided. This may or may not be a good thing, depending on whether you want to “lead” or sit quietly. They commented that they didn’t, and that was a problem for them. It’s like setting Siri to your preferred voice. Please find your favorite one.
For beginners, I think the guided option is a great way to experience what meditation can do. This app makes that accessible. But what I really enjoyed about this app is the huge selection of environmental sounds. I had a lot of fun playing with things like “Binaural Beats and Theta Waves” and getting my brain attuned to different frequencies.
Our curated selection of music is perfect for working or just relaxing. Mostly soothing piano pieces, but I found myself enjoying these playing in the background while writing this article. It will also play what’s called “Night Drive” inside the car, potentially keeping road rage at bay while keeping drivers alert enough to reach their destination after dark. I also liked the (meaning no need to nod your head at the wheel).
Meanwhile, the app promotes sleep stories as well as bedtime stories for adults (although it also has a huge selection for kids). Personally, I never sleep when someone is talking (e.g. I can’t sleep with the TV on in the background). But decided to check them anyway.
I chose “Dream With Me” by Harry Styles, and with his delicious accent, gentle tone, and soft music that underpins the story of his slightly charming setting, I feel completely relaxed. (but I was still awake when he finished. t means you are).
I also found interesting classes such as the “Headache and Migraine Releasing” series. As a migraine sufferer (one of the reasons I started meditating in the first place), the fact that this app offers meditations for managing pain is great. There were also other series that were worth doing, such as training the mind and grieving.
Conclusion? This app offers a lot of quality content if you decide to subscribe and is really worth it when you use it. I listened to “The Daily Calm” and I’m pretty sure the 10 minute meditation is about reflecting and channeling loving kindness to those who have supported me over the past year.To success in 2023 Get ready to go.
If you stick to using the app, you may find yourself on a calmer path next year.
