Allowing certain users to bypass Android’s Do Not Disturb feature isn’t offered as a specific option, but you probably want to do it. Suppose you want to never miss a notification.
Or maybe your boss, parents, best friend, agent, or other people who are very important in your life, and blocking contact from them can cause all sorts of problems.
You may be wondering, “Why use Do Not Disturb?”

All you need is an Android device running at least version 11 of the operating system. Android phone released in the last few years. that’s it. Let’s make some exceptions.
It’s all about starred conversations and prioritized conversations
One of the limitations of this is that you cannot select individual contacts to bypass Do Not Disturb. However, you can choose between starred or prioritized conversations. Starred contacts are contacts you’ve starred and priority conversations are conversations (from Android Messages) you’ve added to your priority list.
If you haven’t added the contact as a favorite or enabled specific conversations as preferred, we recommend doing so before enabling the contact in DND. If you only have one contact that you want to allow DND, add only that contact as Priority or Star.

Handling these two options will allow any users you add to bypass Android’s Do Not Disturb feature. My only gripe with this is that you can set specific contacts for it and don’t have to resort to starred or prioritized conversations. If Google listens, it would be a great addition to Android 14.
