I just got the all-new Oppo Find X6 Pro for review. The phone comes in a box packed with a nice case that mimics the vegan leather back of the phone itself, a 100W charger, a SIM tool, and a USB cable.
Unpacking the Oppo Find X6 Pro
We’re lucky to get our hands on the flagship brown model, which features a Hasselblad-themed vegan leather rear. The leather layer meets a specially treated Gorilla Glass 5 top plate. This means it feels like metal. The large camera island is housed in a notched lens bezel made from aerospace-grade aluminum. There is also a small orange dot that is a throwback to the lens alignment dots on real Hasselblad cameras.
The camera hardware Oppo packed inside the camera module is impressive. The wide camera comes with an f/1.8 lens and a 50.3MP 1-inch sensor that currently dominates the smartphone world. The ultra-wide and telephoto share a 1/1.56-inch sensor.
Its periscope has a focal length of 65mm and that type of f/2.6 lens is very bright. Oppo claims this is the most stable periscope camera on a phone, and early impressions suggest that it might be right.
The Oppo has two Hasselblad-tuned portrait modes, one with a wide-angle camera and one with a telephoto camera, which we’ll test in earnest in our review.
The Oppo Find X6 Pro is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip with up to 16GB of RAM. The software is Android 13 on Oppo’s ColorOS 13.1, but unfortunately it’s a China-only phone with no out-of-the-box Google Play store. We hope Oppo will reconsider and eventually bring this beast out of China, but we won’t hold our breath.
The display is a stunning 6.82-inch 1440p AMOLED with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and more than three color settings. The panel is very vibrant even with the default natural color setting. There’s a pro mode that adheres to the D65 white standard, and vibrant options that turn things into a color explosion. The panel is also dazzlingly bright.
