Vermont Business Magazine The US General Services Administration (GSA) will hold a public meeting on Thursday, January 12 to discuss the expansion of Highgate Border Crossing, located at the northern end of Interstate 89. Last year, legislation allocated him $169 million to upgrade Highgate Crossing, one of New England’s busiest land ports of entry (LPOE).
LPOE expects a 30% increase in traffic with the completion of Canada Autoroute 35 (A-35), which connects to I-89 at the border. GSA proposes building a larger facility to provide a long-term and efficient flow of current and projected traffic.
The GSA will consider alternatives to the three projects and solicit public comment multiple times over the next 18-24 months.
In this first public meeting, we discuss the project timeline and public feedback process. As more information about the project becomes available, it will be updated on the GSA website.
