Secretlab is a brand primarily known for its gaming chairs, but a few years ago the brand expanded its portfolio by producing its own line of premium gaming desks (also known as the Magnus lineup). For that matter, the lineup is further divided into two size groups. A standard non-stand Magnus version and a Magnus Pro version.
This review briefly covers Secretlab’s updated Magnus Pro XL. A sit-and-stand gaming desk is what sets this modern piece of furniture apart from the competition.
what is that?

The Magnus Pro XL, as the name suggests, is essentially a plus-sized version of Secretlab’s sit-and-stand gaming desk. Like all sit-stand desks such as the brand’s direct rival Omnidesk, this desk comes with motorized legs that allow the user to lift between a minimum height of 65cm and his height of 125cm. can. The right edge of the desk has three preset buttons, all programmable and designed to store your preferred table height.
The Magnus Pro XL is also quite large, measuring 1.7m long and 80cm wide. As for build quality, the entire desk and its chassis are made of steel, which is also the main reason why it’s so heavy.
What do you want?

There are many things I love about the Magnus Pro XL. First, the desk, like all Secretlab Magnus desks, comes with a table-length tray attached to the back. This tray is used for cable management, and if you purchase diffused RGB strips, they add a spectrum of colors just below the back of the table and on the edges.
Further eschewing the Magnus Pro XL’s uncluttered feel and the brand’s goal of reducing cable clutter, Secretlab mounted an integrated power column on the desk leg (the left one, to be exact), allowing the owner to I was able to connect it. You can plug in a multi-socket adapter and hide it in the admin tray. Some may not give this feature much thought, but after years of living with the nightmare of exposed cables, making all the mess out of sight is simply liberating. Believe me when I say
Besides, building the Magnus Pro XL is not difficult at all. Sure, you’ll need his second hand to set it up, but like all his Secretlab products, it comes with very clear, concise, and easy-to-follow instructions, and you can actually set up the table in a few tries. can. time.
Bad stuff. tell me.

It should come as no surprise that the desk itself is not without flaws. First, this desk is not cheap. Pricing starts at his SG$899 (~RM2950) for the standard Magnus Pro and his SG$999 (~RM3278) for this XL model. Please note that the price does not include the MAGPAD desk mat. The brand’s Signature Series starts at SG$99 (~RM324), while his Esports Edition starts at SG$125 (~RM410), available in Dark Knight motifs only. This desk size.
Beyond the MAGPAD, everything else on the Magnus Pro XL are optional extras, not what I would call affordable. That detachable magnetic headphone hanger? The cost was S$35 (~RM114). Have a VESA compliant monitor but no monitor arm? Secretlab sells a single Magnus branded arm for SG$159 (~RM521) and a dual monitor arm for SG$269 (~RM882) sell. Want to hang your desktop PC in the air from your desk leg? Get it for just S$99 (~RM324) with our Premium PC Mount.

As for the last accessory, we think Secretlab may have missed that mark with their premium PC mount for the Magnus Pro XL. is located on the left side of the chassis, and you know that you can admire the handiwork and effort put into building your PC. And that’s the mounting problem. It can only be mounted on the left leg of the desk, so it basically blocks the view to the casing. I’m not sure why I didn’t come up with the PC mount hanging off the right leg. good.
should i buy it?

If you’re one of those who are into sleek all-metal designs and the ability to adjust the height of the design with the push of a button, and you like them big, then the Secretlab Magnus Pro XL is the what you need in your life. Personally, a desk is always an item on my shopping list, and at the risk of sounding crude, it’s a dream come true.
Few gaming desks take cable management and modularity ideas into account like the Magnus Pro XL, and even fewer can pull it off. Honestly, even the downsides of adding costly options and the fact that it’s heavy doesn’t stop us from actually recommending spending a little extra on this modern piece of furniture.
