Last year, luxury electric vehicle brand Polestar agreed to supply batteries to electric boat maker Candela. Each cruising distance is 57 nautical miles.
The C-8 ‘powered by Polestar’ edition will replace Candela’s current 44 kWh production model when production starts this spring (Northern Hemisphere).
Foiling electric boats inherit much from current models, including computer-guided retractable C-foil wings and pod motors, which allow them to “fly” above the water for a relatively quiet, efficient and smooth ride. It will come true. Wake up behind it.
However, the internal layout has been redesigned, with the same 69 kWh battery module and DC fast-charging technology as the Polestar 2 5 Door Fastback EV.

At a cruising speed of 22 knots (25 miles per hour), the modified C-8 had a maximum expected range of 57 nautical miles (65 miles/105 km), plus three reserves to return at 4 knots if necessary. Nautical miles are added. – According to Candela, this will be the longest production electric boat.
Gustav Hasselskog, CEO and founder of the company, said: “His Candela C-8 with Polestar represents a major breakthrough in electrification at sea.”
Candela cites usage data from European boat-sharing service Apagi, which says that about 95% of day trips by its members are less than 50 nautical miles and should be “within Candela C-8.”

Elsewhere, the new 8.5 m (28 ft) long C-8 benefits from lightweight carbon fiber construction, an interior designed to sleep a small family, and a tinted hatch on top. allows light to pass through, and foiling boats have the option of a premium sound system with six speakers and a subwoofer.
It is available in hardtop, day cruiser or T-top configurations. The C-Pod motor is reported to put out 75 kW (100 hp) during takeoff and runs at 23 kW (30 hp) while foiling. It also has a top speed of 27 knots.
Pre-orders for the C-8 powered by Polestar are open now and will remain priced at $395,000. There are more videos below.
