Amazon US cut the Beelink GTR5 by a factor of four, making the preconfigured model cheaper than the machine when it launched as a barebones system. AMD may have replaced the Ryzen 9 5900HX with the Ryzen 9 6900HX but the former he remains a strong option with 8 Zen 3 cores, 16 threads and a 45W TDP. The Ryzen 9 5900HX also features a Radeon RX Vega 8 iGPU. This is a drawback compared to the Ryzen 9 6900HX’s more powerful Radeon 680M option.
Additionally, the models offered come with 32 GB of DDR4 RAM and a 500 GB M.2 2280 SSD, as well as the usual GTR5 I/O assortment. For reference, the GTR5 has 6 USB ports and 2 2.5 Gigabit LAN connections, plus 1 DisplayPort and HDMI port. Beelink also includes upgradeable storage and RAM with dual-channel SODIMM modules and two M.2 2280 slots. Please note that one of the M.2 2280 slots supports NVMe drives and the other is compatible with SATA 3 drives only.
At the time of writing, Amazon US has lowered the price of the Beelink GTR5 to US$599. This is a savings of USD 200. By comparison, Beelink released a mini PC as a barebones system for $619, while the company sells a comparable configuration in the US for $639.
