Swiss performance bike manufacturer Thömus has opened its new flagship Santa Monica store and is celebrating the occasion with the launch of a stealthy, lightweight ebike called the Swissrider.
Thömus designed the Swissrider to be something of an all-rounder. This can be configured for city streets, gravel roads, or light trails. Built around a carbon fiber frame, it contributes to an ultralight all-in weight of 11.5 kg (25.3 lbs).
We’ve showcased lightweight models such as the TºRed and HPS, and press materials claim that this model is the “lightest e-bike available” on the market. And, of course, Swissrider looks decidedly fat compared to his one-off Freicycle, but his new Thömusebike should be able to carry him up the stairs to the office with relative ease.
