Apple has announced the latest version of the MacBook Pro with the new M2 Pro or M2 Max chips. Both versions have significantly improved performance and battery life compared to the existing Intel and M1 powered models.
The M2 Pro MacBook features a 10-core or 12-core CPU, delivering up to 20% better performance than the M1 Pro model. It also boasts 200GB/s of unified memory bandwidth (twice that of standard M2) and up to 32GB of unified memory.
It also features a next-generation GPU with up to 19 cores. This results in 80% faster rendering times for titles and animations in the Motion app, as well as up to 80% faster image processing in Adobe Photoshop compared to Intel-based models.

The M2 Max version comes standard with a 12-core CPU for 400GB/s unified memory bandwidth and up to 96GB unified memory. Its 38-core GPU offers up to 30% better graphics performance than the M1 Max and a more powerful media engine than the M2 Pro. Effects rendering is up to 6x faster in Cinema 4D and color grading is up to 2x faster in DaVinci Resolve compared to Intel-based models.
Both the M2 Pro and M2 Max Macbooks feature 22 hours of battery life (the longest ever for a Mac), Wi-Fi 6E connectivity (up to twice as fast as the previous generation), and advanced HDMI (with support for ). first 8K display). Other features include a Liquid Retina XDR display, 1080p FaceTime HD camera, 6-speaker sound system, and studio-quality microphones.
Both models can be ordered today (January 17th) and will be available in Apple retail stores from January 24th. Pricing for the 14-inch models starts at $1,999 for the M2 Pro and $3,099 for the M2 Max, while the 16-inch models start at $2,499 for the M2 Pro and $3,499 for the M2 Max.
