Spokane-based e-mobility organization Heybike is set to unveil a new folding ebike at CES 2023 in Las Vegas this week. The full-suspension Tyson is built around a unibody magnesium alloy frame with a 750W motor that rolls fat tires for multi-terrain riding.
The Tyson is claimed to be “the first folding bike in its category to offer a powerful 750-watt motor in a unibody design.”
The ebike’s frame is made from a single piece of magnesium alloy with internally routed cables for smooth lines. It folds down to 41 x 23 x 30 inches (104.1 x 58.4 x 76.2 cm) but weighs 77 pounds (34.9 kg), making it a very heavy beast when compared to others like the Fiido X. It was recalled and subsequently upgraded due to a severe frame failure.
But Heybike doesn’t expect any future models to have such problems. “The Tyson is not only gorgeous, but it’s also sturdy thanks to its innovative one-piece magnesium alloy construction,” said the company’s co-founder William Li ahead of the ebike’s CES debut. increase.

The Commuter offers 5 levels of pedal assistance from the 750-W hub motor and a PAS 0 mode that provides no assistance from the motor, but turns on when needed. There’s also a thumb throttle, and a Shimano groupset can also be seen in the sample photos, likely offering seven gears for ride flexibility.
It has a 720 Wh battery that can go up to 55 miles (88.5 km) on a single charge, and unlike the Mars and Ranger folders in the company’s lineup, its battery pack is in the frame, not behind the seat post. appears to be housed in
Elsewhere, the Tyson rolls on 20-inch spokeless wheels wrapped in 4-inch fat tires and comes to a stop with the help of its own hydraulic disc brakes. A full squish is shaped as a hydraulic suspension fork and rear shock that connects the frame to the rear swingarm.
It includes a rear rack and is reported to carry up to 120 pounds (54.4 kg) of cargo. There are also front and rear integrated lighting, full fenders and a kickstand.
Heybike has yet to reveal the Tyson’s pricing and availability.
