The annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) showcases the latest and greatest in technology. This year we had some great announcements from Qualcomm, Fossil, Google, as well as Sony and Honda. With so many new products and announcements, it can be difficult to keep track of everything. Here’s a roundup of some of the gadgets you may have missed at CES 2023.
1. Replace Your TV — Completely “Wireless” TV
One product that impressed me was a 55-inch 4K OLED TV from a startup called Displace. It holds your TV in place with strong suction power and can be easily removed with the push of a button.
For easy maneuverability, the TV weighs only 20 pounds and is only 1.2 inches thick. It’s also worth noting that the TV has hot-swappable batteries since there’s no room for wires (or anything). According to the company, these batteries can power your TV for up to a month of runtime (assuming 6 hours of daily use). There are no ports on the TV either. Instead, it relies on a base station that connects wirelessly to your TV and does all the media processing.
No remote control. Instead, the device sports a pop-up 4K camera for gesture-based navigation. Another cool feature of Displace TV is that you can combine up to 16 TVs together for a 220-inch 16K display. Displace TV will launch in the US later this year. You can pre-order now on the company’s website for $300, but the TV itself costs him $3,000.
