Ever wanted to buy the 68 Belkin power strips once owned by Twitter? .
Twitter, led by maverick boy genius Elon Musk, is looking to sell assets at its San Francisco headquarters. It’s a wild collection of strange and mundane objects, including a large stack of power strips.
As of this writing, there are only a few hours left in the Heritage Global Partners online auction, so read carefully and bid while you can. Given that the tech giant has long focused on having offices well-stocked with food, booze, coffee, and fancy furniture, the range of things to buy was very interesting. There’s a neon Twitter bird that fetches over $35,000. Six of his fake leather chairs sold for $1,000. $12,000 @ Sculpture. A $1,400 Eames chair. Or his $700 industrial food smoker, a personal favorite.

The sale comes amid financial difficulties Twitter has struggled under Mr. Musk’s unexpected leadership. The company is reportedly looming over a huge interest payment. This may explain the many cost-cutting measures Musk has adopted, including this kind of garage sale, laying off half of his staff, and his apparent refusal to pay rent.
Bidding on these used Twitter items looks pretty ridiculous so far. In some cases, people pay more for used items than for new ones. So perhaps this is a big step for Musk to keep his new toy afloat. If you would like to contribute, please bid. If someone wants to buy me a smoker… I totally listen.
