Google’s Pixel Tablet has definitely been around for a very long time. First teased in May 2022, it’s still not official, even though he went on sale in December on Facebook Marketplace. Today, a new rumor from a generally trusted source sheds more light on the upcoming device.
Contrary to some previous tweets, we’re apparently only going to get one Pixel Tablet version. There is no “vanilla” and “pro” separation here. Of the two possible iterations, the high-end model remains, while the low-end model, powered by the first-generation Tensor chipset, appears to have been canceled halfway through.

The remaining Pixel Tablets will feature the Tensor G2 SoC, also found in the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, a 2,560×1,600 resolution screen from China Star Optoelectronics, and Richtek RT4539 6-channel LED drivers. This is used to backlight the LCD screen, so don’t expect Google’s upcoming tablet to feature his AMOLED panel.
At least one version of the Pixel Tablet has 8GB of Samsung RAM and 256GB of UFS storage, as well as a side-mounted fingerprint reader (most likely embedded in the power button) .
You can see some newly leaked Pixel Tablet images in the tweet embedded above. As previously revealed, it features a dock that can easily be used as a smart display, but it’s unclear if this is included in the box or sold as an optional accessory. I hope the Tablet will come out sooner or later. It’s been eight months since the manufacturer first teased the device, and it’s rarely been officially announced in that time.
