Motorola has announced five new mid-range and entry-level smartphones this week: Moto G73 and G53, Moto G23, G13 and E13. Two high-end G-series models now sport 5G connectivity (which the G72 and G52 lacked), while his three other models stick with his 4G.
Moto G73 • Moto G53 • Moto G23 • Moto G13 • Moto E13
Before we get into the details of each phone, here are the prices for the new models. This will give you context when looking at the features each phone offers.
- Moto G73 (8/256GB) – €300
- Moto G53 (4/128GB) – €250
- Moto G23 (4/64GB) – €230
- Moto G13 (4/64GB) – €180
- Moto E13 (2/64GB) – €120
First, let’s take a look at the two 5G models. The Moto G73 is the only one with an FHD+ display and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Powered by his Dimensity 930 chipset with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage (plus a microSD slot), the 5,000mAh battery charges at 30W.
What do you think of the Moto G73? Is it worth it or is there a better mid-range for €300? Vote below or on this page.
The Moto G53 is essentially the same size and also has a 6.5-inch 120Hz IPS LCD, but only in HD+ resolution. Also, this camera’s 50MP main camera uses a smaller sensor (1.0µm pixels on the G73 and tiny 0.64µm pixels on the G53) and lacks an ultra-wide camera. The 5,000mAh battery has been reduced to a basic 10W charge (for Europe, the Latin American unit will be 18W). The chipset is also different, it’s a Snapdragon 480+.
The Moto G53 is 50 euros cheaper than the G73, but that’s without considering the memory configuration. The G53 has half the RAM and half the storage of the G73. And what about that HD+ screen? Vote below or on this page.
Both the Moto G23 and G13 have 6.5-inch HD+ displays (IPS LCDs), but unlike the G53, they run at 90Hz. Also, both phones he has a Helio G85, so only 4G connectivity is available.
That said, the G23 has a 5MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Not as good as the G73’s 8MP, but better than nothing. The 5,000mAh battery also supports 30W fast charging, surpassing the G53.
The Moto G23 sounds like a better deal, but 5G isn’t a deal breaker for many. What do you think? Vote below or use this link to vote.
The Moto G13 is the last stop before Android Go Edition. The 5MP ultra-wide angle is lost, the selfie camera drops to 8MP, and the 5,000mAh battery only charges at 10W or 20W (depending on region). Still, the €50 discount off the G23 might be worth it. Vote below or use this link to vote.
Finally, the Moto E13 is a simple €120 Go Edition phone. Its Unisoc T606 he is not as fast as the Helio G85, but not too far behind. The real problem is 2GB of RAM. Anyway, the camera resolution drops to a basic 13MP on the back, and battery charging is solid he at 10W (although the 5,000mAh capacity is excellent). Is the E13 the phone you can see yourself buying for your family or for yourself? Vote below or on this page.
