A run-of-the-mill Moto G53 recently passed our office for a full review. A budget device left us wanting a little more for value, and Motorola felt like he sacrificed too many specs to offer 5G on a budget. The company has at least one more shot at an affordable 5G device, presumably the Moto G53s 5G, according to a Google Play Console listing.
Google Play Console list
The list doesn’t reveal too much, but it does include some specs. The phone is based on the Qualcomm SM4350 chipset, which is a Snapdragon 480. A slightly older variant that still offers 2 Cortex-A76 and 6 Cortex-A55 CPU cores instead of the 480+ that the G53 uses. The big ones were clocked slightly lower. The Adreno 619 GPU is the same, as is the ISP and the integrated X51 5G modem.
The G53s 5G’s display resolution is listed as 720 x 1600 pixels, the same as the vanilla G53. Hopefully that means the 120Hz refresh rate is carried over as well. An 8GB variant may also be available.
There is no information about the battery capacity in the source, but we do know that the regular G53 has 5,000 mAh and the global version has a very slow 10W charge. Assuming the G53s 5G borrows cameras from its siblings, these include a 50MP main snapper and a 2MP macro on the back with 8MP or 16MP selfies depending on region.
We’ll be keeping an eye on future news as soon as the Moto G53s 5G is available.
