Twitter was supposed to formally remove the legacy verification checkmark on April 1. While it appears to be putting those plans on hold for now, the Elon Musk-led social network was put under the checkmark. All those who changed the label and earned it, and paid for it.
When a user taps or clicks the blue check mark, the label now says “This account is verified because it’s on Twitter Blue or is a traditional verified account.”
After Twitter introduced verification with its Blue subscription plan, a label for a legacy verified account said, “This is a legacy verified account. It may or may not be worth noting.” ‘s label read, “This account is on Twitter Blue and has been verified.”
This allowed us to distinguish between the two verified accounts. However, this new signature makes it difficult to separate the two different verifications to identify the account of interest.
