We may only be a week into April, but 9to5Google has spotted Google secretly bringing more smart home camera brands into the Home app. As the company expands on that particular brand, some of the best outdoor security cameras like Reolink are starting to show up on the Google Home app’s Cameras page. Also, the TP-Link Kasa camera seems to be starting to get support.
Some of the TP-Link Kasa cameras seem to have “audio notifications”. This is very similar to what Arlo cameras offer through the app. A Reddit user has begun reporting support for a wider range of her Wyze cameras on the Home app’s streaming page as well. Additionally, there is a little mention that the app currently supports Yi, Tellur, Tuya, Xiaomi, and Nooie branded cameras.
Just recently, French publication GHomeFrance noticed a new interface change for several different device types in the Google Home app (via 9to5Google). Improvements begin with Smart Window Shutters and Curtains now featuring a pill-shaped slider within the app that allows users to set how much the device opens to sunlight.
The app also shows interface changes when it comes to controlling garage doors, ovens, heaters and diffusers. When it comes to smart ovens, additional modes and settings are starting to appear with toggles that users find useful. Alterations to the heater and diffuser interfaces include setting alternate modes with standard on and off switching.
GHomeFrance says lawn mowers are growing in favor, and it looks like these particular devices can now be controlled with the Home app, just like automatic floor cleaners.
