A nematode given a glowing shape inside its body shows that electronics can be 3D printed directly in a living organism. The technology could be used to create and maintain implants and computer-brain interfaces within the human body.

Electronic implants, from pacemakers to bionic ears, are already ubiquitous, but they pose a risk of infection when inserted into the body and can be difficult to correct if they malfunction.
