Ancient humans may have lost their lives and limbs due to injuries from stone tool making

Modern flintnappers who practice making stone tools hurt themselves surprisingly often. But for ancient stoneworkers who lived before modern medicine and antibiotics, an injury that would require stitches or a trip to the emergency room today might have been a death sentence.
Some of the Flintnapper injuries reported in the first investigation of its kind look almost comical, including two who admitted to punching themselves in the testicles and one who dropped his gun.
