The industrialized food system is nearing a crossroads. We undoubtedly produce more than enough food, but we face ethical and environmental limitations. This system, especially factory farming, is doing great damage to the environment, biodiversity, water resources and animal welfare. It’s also ultimately self-defeating because the soil can’t sustain it for long. By one estimate, there are only 60 remaining harvests.
