Make time this week to try out new games
The Steam Next Fest has become a tradition, offering an exclusive peek at a variety of games currently in development without pre-ordering. All 1000+ demos are here for you to try until the 26th. Steam Next Fest has been improving its interface over time, not to mention that Steam recently changed the look of its client. The sidebar on the Steam Next Fest page now allows you to filter games in better ways, including the ability to select specific genres such as Action, Roguelike, and Casual. You can also filter by theme and mood, multiplayer or singleplayer, or features.
Scrolling through the game can be a bit overwhelming, especially if you realize you’ve tried many of these demos at past Steam Next Fests. To help you find it, Rock, Paper and SHOTGUN have selected 14 of their favorite games and listed their recommendations here. Fans of Desperados, Commandos, and Shadow Tactics should check out Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew. Jumplight Odyssey and New Cycle are roguelike colony/city building games if you’re looking for a new game to make your inhabitants happy or unhappy. Perhaps you’re interested in a game with combat mechanics similar to Batman Arkham, except that you’re a 17th-century adventurer. In that case, En Guarde should be on the list.
Now let’s make the list of unplayed games in your Steam library even longer.
