Fosi Audio reviews have become a PCPer tradition. The original, his Fosi Audio TB10D, was a very pleasant surprise rather than a product aimed at real-world applications. Then came his Fosi Audio BT20A Pro, which improved on the first product in every way. They recently released a newly designed amplifier, the Fosi Audio V3. It has been redesigned specifically to target audiophiles who demand both quality and value. Capacitors have been replaced with high-end Japanese ELNA, German WIMA, and Japanese NCC filter caps, and inductors are now Sumida. The case has also been modified, with vents and heatsinks attached directly to the case, and to improve the heat when he feels he needs to crank it up to 11 to hear one song.
Another more obvious difference is that the treble and bass controls have been removed in favor of proper balance on the inside and volume on the outside. As we learned with the BT20A Pro, the knob is important, so the volume has a good off setting and is a logarithmic tapered A pot rather than a linear pot. A second copper knob is also included if you like the look that started with the BT20 Pro. In all honesty, Fosi’s new release still doesn’t disappoint, so we can’t help but hope.
