You didn’t mention how much it would cost to buy all the keyboards
Corsair is looking to expand its peripheral business, and it looks like they’ve done it in a very neat way. They bought his DROP for an undisclosed amount, resulting in a huge customer base. To reassure DROP fans, Corsair plans to keep the product as it is and continue to sell it under the DROP name. However, the Corsair branding could appear anywhere. His DROP team will not change after this purchase, so warranty and service requests currently handled by DROP will not be affected.
This will certainly expand DROP’s customer base and allow access to the global market that Corsair has established. This can lead to interesting new products. A custom key for your Elgado setup can be a lot of fun. On the other hand, there is also the danger of brand dilution, where more radical keycap sets and parts of the keyboard body may be replaced by cheaper alternatives.
Only time will tell, but the fact that Corsair is keeping DROP intact and treating it as a separate line of business should at least give hope for the near future.
