9 ways Apple Watch can simplify your life

If you need directions frequently and have an Apple Watch, I can’t recommend using Apple Maps enough.

In a true Apple ecosystem, the Apple Watch works best with Apple’s own navigation app. Get directions from your Apple Watch. And if you’re using step-by-step navigation, get haptic feedback when you need to turn or exit.

This feature is especially useful if you live in a big city and walk a lot. You can avoid distractions by looking down at your phone to see turn-by-turn directions. This can also prevent distracted driving. It’s also useful when you tend to miss turns or exits, regardless of which navigation app you’re using.

Note that this is more of a guide than a replacement for GPS navigation. That’s because Apple Watch vibrates when action needs to be taken, rather than offering different vibration patterns to warn you of right or left turns. Unless you have earbuds to hear the direction of the audio at the same time, you’ll have to look down at the clock to see what to do.
