Bondi designed to offer a more stable standing ride

Electric bikes and electric scooters are popular options for those who want to get around town in a quiet and clean way. But if all you want is throttle and the kickscoot feels a little wonky, a collaboration between e-mobility retailers Ride and Glide and Element Electric may offer a solution in the form of Bondi.

It is designed to address some of the issues users have with electric kick scooters, such as ride stability and comfort. Boasting wide ecos, the Bondi suffers less from potholes and uneven terrain than your average kick scooter, has wider handlebars for a more confident ride. Powered by a 500W rear hub motor, it can accelerate to 22 mph (35 km/h) with a twisted throttle of 800 watts max and enough torque to flatten 20% grades. Its 48 V/14 Ah battery provides a range of 30 miles (48 km) per 7 hours of charging and can be removed for indoor charging. It’s not huge, but it should meet the daily travel needs of most urban commuters.

Element Electric/Ride and Glide

The 20″ spoked rims are wrapped in 3″ wide pneumatic tires, and stopping power is provided by Tektro hydraulic disc brakes. Full fenders help keep debris and wet items away from the rider, while daytime visibility and e-scooting after dark are aided by integrated 60-lux headlights and brake taillights that turn on automatically.
