Scubajet combines eFoiling and e-surfing in one Hybridboard

Austrian Scubajet, which developed a torpedo-shaped underwater propulsion device, has launched a new Performance Series with a single board that combines both, rather than having to buy both an eFoil and an electric surfboard to have fun on the water. bottom.

“E-Foiling and E-Surfing are two different passions of mine, and I don’t want to miss either,” said Armin Kundigraber, CEO of Scubajet. “Hybridboard solves exactly this problem. We put our heart and soul into every detail in the design, development and production of the Performance Series. Innovation, ease of use and purpose have been It was a top priority for us.”

Two and a half years in development and inspired by our modular, versatile and powerful portable series, Hybridboard is made of carbon fiber and measures 174 cm long, 63 cm wide (68.5 x 24.8 inches) and weighs 11.5 kg ( 25.35 lbs) without battery pack.

The quick release system is reported to provide tool-free conversion from an eFoil to an electric surfboard in seconds. When used as an eFoil, the Scubajet propulsion capsule is mounted on a 75 cm (29.5 in) mast with high aspect wings shaped using computational fluid dynamics to minimize water drag. This jet capsule attaches directly to your board and goes into e-surf mode.

Inside the board are slots for two 1.7 kWh battery modules, each weighing 10 kg (22 lbs). Up to 3 hours of eFoiling or 40 minutes of electric surfing on a single charge. eFoil has a top speed of 50 km/h (31 mph) and e-Surfing is slightly slower at 45 km/h (28 mph).

Interestingly, users can wear the Scubajet remote wearable or use the Apple Watch Ultra as a dashboard. Either way, a handheld wireless trigger controls speed, and cruise control is included for fixed speeds.

Hybrid boards are currently on pre-order. eFoil-only and e-surf-only configurations are also available, but you can pay an immediate deposit of €5,500 for a total of €15,800 (17,200 USD). Shipments are expected to begin in May or June, with more eFoil wings to follow “soon”. There are more videos below.
