Oppo released its mid-ranger Reno8 T and Reno8 T 5G in a less flashy way. The device was only uploaded to the company’s Vietnamese website, and the online retailer followed suit.
The LTE-only smartphone has a Mediatek chipset and a 100MP camera, while the 5G version has a Qualcomm chip and a 108MP main shooter.
Oppo Reno8T
The smartphone packs a 6.43-inch AMOLED with a 90Hz refresh rate and FullHD+ resolution. It has a 180Hz touch sampling rate and Gorilla Glass 5. A 32MP selfie camera is located in the upper left corner of the punch hole.
There are three more cameras on the back. Oppo hasn’t revealed details about his 100MP main shooter, but it would be an industry first if it were native resolution. Her two other units are a 2MP depth sensor and his 2MP macro cam. There’s a ring light around the main camera that doubles as a customizable notification light.
Under the hood is the Helio G99 chipset and a single memory option (8/256GB). There is a microSD slot for additional storage.
The Reno8 T comes with a 5,000mAh battery and SuperVOOC fast charging. The company doesn’t say what the rate is exactly, so we’re assuming he’s 33W, the lowest possible for this brand.
Other connectivity options include a 3.5mm audio jack on the bottom, a USB-C port, Bluetooth 5.3, and support for all major GNSS. The operating system is ColorOS 13 based on Android 13.
The Reno8 T comes in two colors: basic Starlight Black and leather Sunset Orange. The price is set at 8.49 million VND, which translates to $365. The phone is already on sale at major online retailers in Vietnam.
Oppo Reno8T 5G
The launch of this mid-ranger is a little more puzzling as Vietnam is not expected to see widespread deployment of these networks for some time due to infrastructure limitations. With a sleek screen and even faster charging, it will probably still find its place.
The Reno8 T 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 695 and comes with 8GB RAM.
The 108MP main camera has AF and an f/1.7 aperture, with two 2MP sensors. One for the macro image and one for the depth data. The 32MP selfie on the front is in the center punch hole this time.
The Reno8 T 5G 6.7 inch is built around a 10-bit OLED display with FullHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. It has 2.5D curved sides and can reach a maximum brightness of 950 nits according to the official website.
The 4,800 mAh battery comes with SuperVOOC again, but this time Oppo has revealed fast charging. 67 W if the required adapter is included in the retail box.
The Reno8 T 5G doesn’t have a 3.5 mm audio jack, but it comes with ColorOS 13 as it ships.
The Oppo Reno8 T 5G is available in Starlight Black and Dawn Gold. The device is available for pre-order at VND9.9 million (approximately $430). Most Vietnamese stores bundle the device with a Bluetooth speaker that doubles as a nightstand light. Sales in the South Asian country he will start on February 10th.
