We already know Twitter is dying like a sad little grape on the vine, but today it looks like the party is really over.
Yesterday, February 2nd, a Twitter user claimed that “Twitter lost its birthday balloons,” adding, “Elon is such a miserable little guy that he can’t stand the idea that anyone can ever experience happiness.” He added: Musk may indeed look like a miserable midget, but the claims about balloons should have been investigated.

The normal behavior of the balloon function is: When you sign up for Twitter, the site asks for your date of birth. When you view your profile that day, you’ll see a “Happy Birthday” message underneath your profile and a fun little animation of colorful balloons floating across your screen (PS tap to pop). If you’ve made your date of birth public, anyone who visits your profile will see a balloon with the message “Today is your birthday!” Click on the message and the speech bubble will reappear.
I’ve done some digging and I’m still seeing them on my desktop for profiles that publish their birthdays. However, in the mobile app, the balloon is not displayed. And “Today is their birthday!” still shows and I can’t click to add balloons. Also, the user Own birthday profile.
The only explainable reason this happens is that I turned off “reduce motion” in the accessibility settings. To check in the mobile app,[設定とサポート]>[設定とプライバシー]>[アクセシビリティ、ディスプレイ、および言語]>[アクセシビリティ]>[モーション]Go to[モーションを減らす]is turned off.
To display the balloon,[モーションを減らす]Double check that is turned off.
