Age-related macular degeneration, one of the leading causes of blindness, causes central vision in older people to become blurry or completely absent. Arges glasses are designed to help by rearranging the invisible image.
The glasses, which will officially debut at CES next month, are being developed by Samsung-funded Korean startup Cellico.
A small 4K camera is built into the eyewear’s bridge, capturing everything in front of the wearer. Live video from the camera is displayed on a circular screen to one side of the user’s field of view via a 1080p reflective waveguide display inside the lenses of the glasses.
Using an app on a paired smartphone, users can initially identify the exact area of the field of view that will be affected, as well as determine where within that field of view the camera’s video will appear. Additionally, you can use voice commands to zoom in or out on your video.

Other features include the lens’ PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) film, which electronically self-colors in bright conditions. It also uses a body made partially of titanium. The glasses are claimed to tip the scales at 3.31 ounces (94 g).
