Today Poco debuted the X5 and X5 Pro. Both boast decent specs for the price you’d expect to pay for a budget smartphone, including Qualcomm’s mid-range he Snapdragon processor, a sizeable battery, and a super-smooth screen refresh rate.
Poco has touted a flagship-level experience delivered by the X5 Pro 5G, but no pricing information was provided in the press materials. Pricing is likely to vary depending on the storage tier you choose. The cheaper model comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, while the more expensive model comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The standard X5 models have the same memory and storage configurations.
Both models feature a similar 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 and a screen refresh rate of up to 120Hz. However, the Pro model’s screen is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5, while the standard variant is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
Even more impressive on the Pro variant is the 108MP main camera. This is not typically found on many of the top budget Android phones. It has been seen before in Chinese models for the price.

In terms of processing power, the X5 Pro is equipped with an 8-core 6nm-based Snapdragon 778G chipset, which was recently replaced by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 782G processor. On the other hand, the regular version is equipped with Snapdragon 695 SoC. Both variants have a 5,000mAh battery and support fast charging of 67W for the Pro model and 33W for the regular variant.
Poco claims the Pro model’s battery can charge up to 30% in just 7 minutes, while the vanilla X5 can be fully charged in about 68 minutes.
The Poco X5 is slightly larger than its Pro sibling, measuring 165.88 x 76.21 x 7.98mm (X5 Pro measures 162.91 x 76.03 x 7.9mm). Heavier than X5 Pro, 189g vs 181g.
Both devices share some common specs such as a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC and an IR blaster. However, there are some notable differences between the two models, most notably his MIUI version. The regular model runs his MIUI 13, while the Pro model comes with his MIUI 14, both based on Android 12. The Poco X5 Pro starts at €299 for the 6GB/128GB variant and €349 for the 8GB/256GB configuration. On the other hand, the standard model has a base price of 249 euros, but you can spend 299 euros for a larger storage capacity.
Both versions will be available for purchase through Poco’s retail partners on February 7th.
