OnePlus 11 comes to the US with killer $699 price tag

The phone has finally reached US shores after the OnePlus 11 debuted in China last month. Pre-orders begin today and will ship on February 16th. The phone costs $100 less in the US than last year’s release, which could help in the current terrible smartphone economy. The OnePlus 11 starts at $699, or $100 less than the base-model Galaxy S23 announced last week, and $200 less than the OnePlus 10.

OnePlus is wiping out its relationship with Samsung with its pricing this year. Not only is the OnePlus 11 cheaper, it’s a higher-end device than the base model Galaxy S23, with better specs and more features. Compared to the S23, the OnePlus 11 has a larger screen (6.7 inches vs. 6.1 inches), a much larger battery (5000 mAh vs. 3900 mAh), and Wi-Fi 7 support (which Samsung doesn’t offer at any price). is equipped with , and dramatically faster charging (80 W vs. 25 W). Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra with similar specs is priced at $1,200, not yet You can’t win cleanly in a spec sheet battle with OnePlus’ $700 device.

OnePlus has made some price cuts to keep prices down. The device is dust and water resistant rated “IP64” only. That’s a normal amount of dust protection, but something like IP68 is good for being completely submerged in water, while IP64 is only good for “splashing”.

Another cut is wireless charging. OnePlus hopes you don’t mind, considering it’s industry-leading wired fast-charging system (80W for this phone in the US). The company manages 100W internationally, but even 80W will charge the phone in about 30 minutes.

Other specs include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, 8GB of RAM and a 50MP main camera. There’s also an $800 version with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of much faster UFS 4.0 storage. You’ll get OnePlus’ new flagship update plan for major OS updates for four years, but you’ll only get security updates every other month.
