OnePlus 11R launches in India with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 100W fast charging

OnePlus has had a busy day. Just announced the global launch of the OnePlus 11 and unveiled his OnePlus Ace 2 for China. In fact, India’s broadcasts mostly followed the global event, but followed by an additional device, 11R. This is the local name for Ace 2.

The OnePlus 11R is the follow-up to last year’s 10R and builds on the original Ace. 10R didn’t leave India like Ace didn’t leave China. As far as we know, his new 11R model won’t leave the subcontinent either.

This is a shame as it brings some cool improvements over its predecessor. The major upgrade is the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Like the Dimensity 8100-Max, this is actually a midrange chip. Even gen 8 and above is fast enough to keep up with the flagship herd.

OnePlus kept the display size at essentially the same 6.74 inches, but increased the resolution from 1,080 x 2,412 pixels to 1,240 x 2,772 pixels. This is halfway between FHD+ and QHD+. Combined with the extra processing power of the Adreno 730 GPU, the phone offers sharper graphics in games. The refresh rate is the same at 120 Hz and it’s a 10-bit panel (supports HDR10+).

The 10R model was available with two charging and battery systems: 80W/5,000mAh and 150W/4,500mAh. This year, the company has taken a more balanced approach, offering just one power system configuration with a 5,000mAh battery and 100W fast charging. It’s not as fast as the older 150W model, but it has longer battery life, reaching 100% in 25 minutes (compared to 32 minutes for the 80W/5,000mAh 10R). This matches the speed (and battery capacity) of the flagship OnePlus 11.

So far we have compared the 11R and 10R, but the other is the comparison with the 10T. That phone also has an 8+ Gen 1 chipset, but sticks to the older FHD+ display and sports a 4,800mAh battery with 150W fast charging.

The camera system is pretty much the same as last year, featuring a 50MP main module with an f/1.8 lens with OIS and a 50MP 1/1.56″ sensor (this time IMX890 replacing IMX766). The ultra wide angle is still 8MP (120°) and there is a 2MP macro cam. In fact, the only notable change here is that the 11R can record 4K at 60 fps (up from 30 fps on the 10R).

The last thing to cover is the price. The base 8/128 GB model starts at Rs 40,000 and you can get double the RAM and double the storage, i.e. 16/256 GB for Rs 45,000.

For comparison, the old 10R launched at Rs 39,000 for an 80W unit with 8/128GB memory while the 10T was Rs 50,000 with the same 8/128GB configuration. His flagship OnePlus 11 launches globally today, with prices in India starting at his Rs 57,000.
