Uber is integrating its driver app with Apple CarPlay • TechCrunch

Uber drivers with iPhones will be able to use the Uber app directly from their car’s dashboard while using Apple’s CarPlay, according to an email sent to drivers seen by TechCrunch.

The integration is rolling out to drivers nationwide and will be accessible to all drivers by the end of the month.

CarPlay is an Apple product used by most major car manufacturers to turn head units into displays and controllers for iOS devices. By integrating the Uber driver app with CarPlay, drivers can navigate between their phone and screen or between apps to view and accept rides, navigate, add rides to their queue, and more. No need to switch.

Drivers will also have access to a larger screen, making it easier to see features of Uber’s navigation system, such as heat maps of high-demand locations, more routes, and roadsides.

According to Uber’s email, here are the steps drivers need to take to connect the Uber driver app to CarPlay:

  1. Open the app on your iPhone and[移動]to go online.
  2. Connect your iPhone to your car with a cable or wirelessly.
  3. Once connected, open CarPlay.
