Lava unveiled the Blaze 5G last year, which at the time was the cheapest 5G smartphone in the country. It arrived with 4GB RAM, but today the company has revealed that it will be launching a more powerful version.
The new Lava Blaze 5G comes with 6GB of RAM and is already listed on Amazon for an introductory price of INR11,499 ($140), later rising to INR11,999 ($145).
The Blaze 5G has a 6.5-inch LCD with a waterdrop notch and 720p resolution with a 90Hz refresh rate. It has a Dimensity 700 chipset, but the RAM can be expanded with so-called “virtual RAM” which borrows memory from available storage. Again, 128 GB.
Other key specs include a massive 5,000 mAh battery and a 50 MP camera.
Lava phones are 5G ready, but not many people have them. Jio is still developing next-generation networks in 100 major cities, and Airtel is present in “major cities and locations.”
The Blaze 5G is a future-proof smartphone as both carriers have promised proper 5G networks by the end of 2023.
