Google may be trying to fix a frustrating display issue on the latest Pixel flagships.
In a thread detailing the Pixel 7 Pro’s jerky scrolling that began in November, users may finally see the light at the end of the tunnel after continuously reporting jarring display issues (Android via Police). A Google software engineer recently responded to a complaint, stating that they were aware of the scrolling issue and were “working to improve it for a future software update.”
Users continue to report a jerky, sometimes “sticky” feeling when scrolling on their Pixel 7 Pro, but it looks like Google is quietly working to fix the issue. found a breather after the latest Android QPR2 Beta 3 build shipped to users who enrolled in the program. However, the stutter step scrolling is not as frequent for some people, but some people still experience it quite often, so it’s not as wide in the beta build as others might expect.
Shortly after the Google Pixel 7 Pro launched, users reported issues with the display popping up while scrolling. Many reports revolved around a similar “janky” or “sticky” feeling when trying to scroll the device, and also experienced strange keyboard movements while typing. and some found relief in basic software patches, while others were plagued by the problem.
Google hasn’t publicly commented on the Pixel 7 Pro’s display issues with users (so far), nor with us since asking for comment last year. Frustratingly, the engineer’s outlook on the fixed issue could come through his next Pixel Feature Drop rolling out in March.
