The iPhone 15 Pro is expected to launch this fall, possibly in September, along with the Pro Max and two other models. Still, it’s mid-February here and it looks like we already have the first speculative renders of the next phone.
CAD files like these are sent by Apple to accessory makers in Asia in advance of new product launches so that they can prepare their products when the new iPhones become official. In this case (pun intended – read on), the CAD files these renderings are based on are said to have been made by a Chinese case maker who apparently originally got them.
Well, introductions aside, let’s see what’s new. As you can see, and as has been rumored many times, the USB-C port is finally coming to iPhones this year. Then there’s the new design that seems to curve the frame a bit and curve the glass into the frame.
The camera bump on the back is clearly thicker than the iPhone 14 Pro, which could indicate that this space could be further improved and possibly housed with a larger sensor. and the placement of the LiDAR scanner is the same as last year.
The volume buttons are no longer proper buttons, but may be the previously rumored capacitive ones. The mute switch has also been redesigned and is smaller and rounder than before. We expect the screen size and resolution of the iPhone 15 Pro to be similar, if not the same, as its predecessor, but overall the new device is slightly smaller due to thinner panel bezels. The island is still there and looks just like the one on the iPhone 14 Pro.
