Saudi Arabia is currently experiencing an unprecedented construction boom. Alongside the previously announced 170km long skyscraper and the Qiddiya Giga project comes an incredibly ambitious project named Mukaab. It consists of a huge cubic skyscraper that hosts a twisted tower inside.
The Muqab reaches a height of 400 m (1,312 ft), making it about 41st in the ranking of the tallest in the world. However, the length and width will also be the same, so it will be really huge. Its decorative façade is inspired by traditional Islamic architecture, topped by a roof garden.
According to the Saudi government’s Public Investment Fund, it is large enough to theoretically house 20 Empire State Buildings. Mukaab will be at the center of Riyadh’s massive development called New Murabba, which will include the construction of thousands of new homes, hotels, retail spaces, offices and leisure facilities, an immersive theater and a university of technology and design. .
