Shargeek’s retro-styled 67W GaN charger has an LED screen with a built-in power meter

Shargeek is a Chinese accessory manufacturer best known for its see-through power banks. I reviewed the Storm 2 and Storm 2 Slim a few months ago. They’re more expensive than standard power banks, but their unique design with a built-in power meter that lets you see your charging speed in real time makes them an easy recommendation.

Shargeek seems to intend to integrate a power meter into all of their products. Because its latest product is a USB PD 3.0 charger which is different from the one I used. It’s called the Retro 67, and as the name suggests, it stands out for its use of his 1980s Macintosh design for the chassis. But what makes the Retro 67 unique is that the screen isn’t just about aesthetics. It has a real-time charging indicator, which is incredibly cool.

I’ve had the Retro 67 for over a month now and can safely say it’s one of my favorite charging accessories in my house. The retro style essentially hides the fact that this is a charger, and I love the gray finish and attention to detail. 3.0 protocol gives a total power budget of 67W.

As with the Storm 2 power bank, my favorite feature of the Retro 67 is the screen. Real-time speed is displayed when the charger is in use. The best part is to use a large pixelated font that suits your design. When the charger is not in use but is plugged into the socket, the Matrix code will scroll across the screen. This is a very cool feature.
