Today is Wednesday. A weird way to start your day via Microsoft, Meta, and The Register? The latter found that both of these companies offer new products, but they are not what you would expect. High and likely to drive you to get someone. Microsoft seems to have recently downsized its tasteful division.
Minecraft Crocs are now available for just $59.99. They are aptly called Minecraft Elevated Clogs and feature a color scheme straight out of Minecraft for all your high fashion needs. That’s not all, but the questionable footwear with greebles is high. Your feet will be styling protruding from new Microsoft gear such as blocks, creepers and chests.
Having likely laid off most of the departments responsible for keeping bad ideas from coming to light, Meta reinvented the cubicle. The new Meta Cube has a surprisingly curved design, and the 90-degree angle seems to be the sole source of employee antipathy to the office. And because it’s made from recycled PET, it’s soft and theoretically attenuates sound. Of course, padded cubicles are neither new nor particularly effective. At least slightly less ugly than Microsoft’s Crocs.
Somehow, neither of these new products do much to distract from layoffs.
