There’s been enough dystopia recently to make it seem worthy of a cyberpunk novel. She put implants in a blind woman to make her see again, but after a few years the implants failed and she was blind again. The company that invented the implant was in financial trouble and stopped supporting the product, so no one was there to help. She still has dead implants in her eyes because surgery to remove them is too risky.
