Xiaomi 13 Lite arrives with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, island dual front camera

The Xiaomi 13 series is launching today in a new market and gaining a new member, the Xiaomi 13 Lite. This is the sequel to his last 12 Lite and brings performance and camera improvements. The name ‘Lite’ clearly marks it as mid-range, but on the plus side, it only costs half the price we pay for the Xiaomi 13 (not to mention the Pro model).

The new model is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, which offers 20% more GPU and 30% more AI performance compared to the Snapdragon 778G inside the 12 Lite. However, Xiaomi has not updated his RAM and storage and he still uses LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2. Two configurations are available, 8/128GB and 8/256GB. Note that this phone comes with MIUI 14, but this particular version is based on Android 12.

Moving on to the camera, the Xiaomi 13 Lite uses the 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor found in many high-end phones. 1/1.56″ sensor with 1.0µm pixels (2.0µm with binning enabled) combined with f/1.8 aperture delivers 123% more light than last year’s 12 Lite’s 108MP sensor with f/1.9 lens can be imported.

The 8MP ultra-wide camera (1/4-inch IMX355) with a 119° field of view and the 2MP macro camera seem unchanged from last year.

The 32MP selfie camera has made a new friend: the 8MP depth sensor. The pair live in the display’s island-style camera hall. A depth sensor is used to get a more natural bokeh effect in selfies. The camera also has a 100° field of view and automatically adjusts the framing of group photo shots.

Yes, the overall design is based on the Civi 2, but there are some hardware differences. I’m here. It also has a 20MP ultra-wide camera.

The Xiaomi 13 Lite has a curved 6.55 inch AMOLED display. This is a 12-bit panel that supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+ and can render 68 billion colors. It uses his PWM dimming of 1,920Hz, with a typical brightness of 500 nits and a peak of 1,000 nits.

This display has a resolution of 1080 x 2400px (20:9) and runs at a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Protected by curved Gorilla Glass 5. There is also glass on the back (not GG) and the frame is plastic. The phone has he IP53 rating for resistance to dust and splashes.

The battery has improved a little since last year and is roughly on par with the Xiaomi 13’s. It has the same 4,500mAh capacity (+200mAh over the 12 Lite) and the same 67W wired charging support, which can reach 100% in 40 minutes.

A few things to mention are Dolby Atmos for audio and wireless connectivity featuring Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC support (note: NFC is not available in all regions). This is a dual SIM phone with 5G support thanks to the Snapdragon X62 modem.
