At MWC 2023, TCL unveiled its second generation NXTPAPER display technology and the first tablets to utilize it, as well as more affordable tablets with standard displays.
TCL NXTPAPER 11
The TCL NXTPAPER 11 is smaller and cheaper than the 12-inch tablet at CES. Less than half the price. The new slate features a 10.95-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 2,000 x 1,200 pixels (15:9) and has a special coating that gives it a paper-like texture. This is consistent with the optional stylus and supports styluses capable of detecting 4,096 levels of pressure.
NXTPAPER 2.0 technology is much brighter than the original and can achieve 500 nits. An anti-glare design allows for use in bright ambient light, and a dedicated light sensor matches the display’s color temperature to that ambient light.
The tablet is powered by the Helio P60T chipset and lacks mobile connectivity (NXTPAPER 12 Pro runs 5G thanks to the Kompanio 800T chip). It runs Android 13 and features advanced multitasking features such as split-screen and floating window modes. Storage is expandable via microSD slot.
Local connectivity is handled by Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.0. The 8MP front-facing camera has a 100° wide-angle lens, along with two microphones and four speakers, making this slate perfect for video calls. It also has an 8MP camera on the back.
The tablet is just 6.9 mm thick, weighs 462 g and has an 8,000 mAh battery inside. It charges via USB-C using the included 18W charger.

TCL NXTPAPER 11 will be available in Europe starting in May and will be expanded to other regions later. The slate costs $250 and the T-Pen stylus is sold separately. TCL also has other accessories such as Bluetooth keyboards, flip cases and TP screen protectors.

The TCL Tab 11 comes in two versions, 4G and Wi-Fi. In both cases, they are powered by the same Helio P60T chipset (4x A73 + 4x A53 at 2.0GHz, PowerVR GE83200) with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It has a microSD slot and (optionally) a SIM slot.
So does the display, a 10.95-inch IPS LCD with 2,000 x 1,200 pixels (15:9) resolution and support for an optional T-Pen stylus (4,096 levels of pressure). However, there are no extensions for NXTPAPER. On the front, a 100° wide-angle lens for the 8MP camera gives you the freedom to move around during video calls. The rear camera also has an 8MP sensor.
This slate comes equipped with Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, and you can get LTE for a little more money. The board has 4 speakers and 2 microphones. Like its more expensive sibling, the Tab 11 is just 6.9mm thick and packs an 8,000mAh battery and an included 18W charger.

The TCL Tab 11 will be available in May and will cost slightly more at $180 for the Wi-Fi model and $210 for the 4G version. There are optional accessories such as the aforementioned T-Pen, Bluetooth keyboard, and protective cases and films.
